It’s fascinating that when one is shopping for a home, one thinks of a home that they will raise a family in… Waking up and down hallways and looking into rooms thinking, this will be our baby’s room. This his and hers sinks are great. I love the master suite. And then to have a (or multiple) children grow up in that home and those rooms, dreamed of for potential children, become the home for children for 18+ years with so many memories of journeys around the yard and driveway… Forts and camps included , and all of a sudden those children have left and now they are just empty spaces that the child used to live in. It makes the importance of a home shift and all of a sudden it’s a home where people once live and now it’s a home of memories…

Today

I bared my soul and deepest secrets to a stranger. It was out of the blue and nothing I had ever planned on doing but the opportunity presented itself and I made it out okay.

A year or so ago my husband and I had a discussion of how we like to receive love (thank you Gary Chapman and the 5 love languages). One of mine is words of affirmation. A year later I still occasionally find these in random places. Tonight I found this one. :)

Day six

Today I’m thankful that my husband will slow dance to the lumineers “ho hey” in the kitchen.

Oh, and that Obama won!
